Zalando Lounge and Hillwood Development has started the construction of the logistics centre in Olsztynek, the investment has been underway since February this year.

The logistics centre of Zalando Lounge will have an area of 130,000 sq m. The investor decided to choose Olsztynek because of, among other things, good infrastructure with direct access to S51 and S7 expressways and favourable employment prospects. The facility will be managed by an external company, which will also be responsible for the recruitment process of more than 500 employees and will be selected through a call for tenders. The centre is scheduled to start operating in early 2019. 

- After the launch of Zalando Lounge in Poland in 2017, it is our next good decision, thanks to which the company is growing. The new logistics centre will allow us to increase our capabilities and better serve an ever growing number of customers all over Europe. The very good cooperation with our partner, Hillwood, and the support of the local authorities were the key to the completion of this great project - said Martin Rost, senior vice-president of Zalando Lounge and Outlet.

- We have gained good experience with the (already operating) logistics centre in Szczecin and the (currently under construction) facility in Łódź, we can now use it - adds Sven Thiessen, Head of Logistics Zalando Lounge.
