Panattoni Europe, Europe, Poland’s leader in industrial real estate, is finalising the facility dedicated to Kaufland in Bydgoszcz. About 45,000 sqm of warehouse space with a cold room will be delivered in February 2017. The investment is adjacent to Panattoni Park Bydgoszcz, where the construction of building three with 16,000 sqm is also under way at the moment.
The BTS facility dedicated to Kaufland is tailored to the needs of the FMCG sector. Kaufland is a chain of large-format stores owned by the German Schwarz Group. In Poland it has in excess of 200 stores, with more than 1,200 altogether in Europe. The facility with the area of approx. 45 000 sqm will be the third warehouse of the company and willreplace its previous 12,000-square-metre facility in Bydgoszcz. In terms of distribution, the warehouse will serve 67 markets in the north of the country. The facility will be manned by a total of 250 employees, which means that the current team will be joined by 140 new hires.
“We are commencing operations in a new warehouse, developed by Panattoni, because of the continuing development of our chain in the Polish market. It will enable us to optimise deliveries to a larger number of stores in northern Poland. The particular location of this warehouse offers an additional advantage in the form of synergies in the movement of goods between Kaufland warehouses and stores, which overall will lead to shortening supply routes and translate into environmental advantages as well as improved freshness and accessibility of goods at our stores” – said Marcin Woszczek, head of the Real Estate Development Division.

The logistics centre for Kaufland is being developed in Bydgoszcz at ul. Ernsta Petersena, right next to Panattoni Park Bydgoszcz, which comprises three buildings totalling 42,000 sqm. Both investments are situated partly on the grounds of the former chemical plant, Zakłady Chemiczne ZACHEM, in the direct vicinity of the Bydgoszcz Industrial and Technological Park, barely 9 km from the city centre of Bydgoszcz, 4 km from the national road no 10, and 10 km from the interchange connecting the national road no 25 and the expressway S10.
