Miele laid the foundation stone for a new washing machine factory in Ksawerów near Łódź. The German company invested EUR 50 million in the first stage of the investment.
One of the Group's most modern production plants is being built on a plot of land of 30 ha. The building, with an area of over 18 thousand square meters, will house up to 250 thousand washing machines annually, primarily intended for the Polish and European markets. The facility in Ksawerów is the thirteenth production plant of the concern and the fifth one outside Germany. The factory is being built in the Lodz Special Economic Zone, with production planned to start at the end of 2019. In the first stage, the plant will employ 400 workers.
- The location of Ksawerów was supported by good infrastructure, such as the A2 Berlin-Warsaw motorway and one of the largest and most modern reloading stations in the country. Moreover, there are many qualified and experienced employees in the region as well as a rich network of potential suppliers and business partners - comments Stefan Breit, Member of the Management Board for Technical Matters of the Miele Group.
