Panattoni has signed its latest lease with Terg, the owner of the Media Expert consumer electronics chain. The tenant is to occupy more than 12,000 sqm at Panattoni Business Center Łódź III in the city’s Widzew district, which it will be taking up in September 2020. Colliers International advised the tenant for this transaction.
Once again Media Expert. Once again in Łódź. Panattoni has leased 12,115 sqm, of which 12,049 sqm is warehousing space, to Terg, the owner of the Media Expert chain of electronic goods stores. From September 1st this year, the company will use the space at Panattoni Business Center Łódź III to store home electronics and household appliances destined for shops and customers across Poland. The building will act as a buffer storage facility for Media Expert’s main distribution centre in the Central European Logistics Hub, which was delivered by Panattoni in 2019. At that time, the company took up as much as 73,300 sqm to consolidate its operations.
Media Expert is the largest electronics / household appliances chain in Poland, a market where it has been active since 2002. It now has 480 electronic goods stores in almost 390 towns and cities across the country. Media Expert stores offer the latest electronics and household appliance products, including laptops, tablets, smartphones and photographic equipment. A number of outlets also sell bicycles, scooters, quad bikes, power tools, relaxation equipment and gardening equipment.
- Looking to the future and our further development, we have to continue to improve our infrastructure and logistics operations. We want to minimise delivery times and ensure their reliability – both when it comes to online orders and for each of the almost 500 Media Expert stores throughout Poland. Our presence at Panattoni Business Center Łódź III represents the latest stage in the implementation of this programme - explains Media Expert spokesperson Michał Mystkowski.
According to Kamil Kwiatkowski, Senior Leasing Manager of Panattoni: “We are pleased with the extension of our cooperation with Terg for two reasons. First of all, it confirms that the central warehouse that we delivered has passed the test and that the company wants to grow further in our facilities. Secondly, Panattoni Business Center Łódź III has now become our latest fully leased facility, confirming that Łódź, where we have been operating for many years, is still a very attractive location.”
- Our representation of Media Expert in leasing the space in the Panattoni park in Łódź is our latest project for this client, who we would like to thank for the continuing trust it has placed in us. During the transaction, Panattoni showed great understanding of the tenant's needs – and its need for flexibility, which in this current phase of rapid growth in logistics development is of crucial importance for companies. Having a sufficiently large portfolio of modern warehouse buildings offering immediate space to lease is vital for attracting tenants on Łódź’s competitive warehouse market - says Jan Barbasiewicz, a partner in the Logistics and Industrial Agency at Colliers International.
With the signing of this lease agreement with the owner of Media Expert, the developer has now leased the entire area of Panattoni Business Łódź Center III, i.e. 30,128 sqm. The facility’s flexible modules are ideal for production, warehouse and logistics activities. In addition to the electronics goods chain, the park also houses companies from the cosmetics packaging and TSL sectors, as well as manufacturers of protection for sensitive products during transit. Another great advantage of Panattoni Business Łódź Center III is its location. The building is situated just 3.5 km from the city centre, with easy access by tram or bus. In addition, it is only 5 km from the A1 motorway – part of the Pan-European Corridor VI – and 18 km from the A2 motorway connecting Łódź with, among others, Poznań, Warsaw and Berlin.
